Waterfront District - Lions Area Girl Guides of Canada

Waterfront District falls between South of the Upper Levels Highway to the water and from West of Lonsdale Avenue to Capilano Road in North Vancouver and offers guiding opportunities for girls and women, starting at age 5. Our units meet all meet at our BC Provincial Guide House, #107 – 252 West Esplanade, North Vancouver.

We are a small District that includes the following units: 2 Sparks (K-1), 2 Embers (Grades 2-3), 1 Guide (Grades 4-6), and 1 Pathfinder (Grades 7-9).

We promote healthy life styles, outdoor activity, self-esteem, friendship, and mentoring opportunities for girls. Our units attend camps at Lighthouse Park and Camp Olave.

6	7	8	9	10	11 Guide Camp Skills Day for Guides and their Guiders Guide Camp Skills Day for Guides and their Guiders April 11, 2026 @ 8:30 am - 12:00 pm Cates Park/Whey-ah-Wichen, 4141 Dollarton Hwy, North Vancouver, BC V7G 1A1, Canada IN PERSON @ Cates Park/Whay-Ah-Wichen This is an opportunity for Guiders and Guides to learn and practice basic camp skills: create a simple tarp shelter using the using the truckers hitch and taut line hitch, try different cooking methods such as a box oven and buddy burner and finally learn how to light, maintain and extinguish a fire safely. The day is divided into two. One group of girls and leaders will attend in the morning (8:30 am to noon) and the other group in the afternoon (12:30 pm to 4:00 pm). You decide if the morning or the afternoon works best for your Unit although it may be that we have to juggle some groups around to keep AM and PM numbers even. Register early to get the times you want.
