Lynn Valley

Lynn Valley District has a thriving Girl Guide community with over 500 girls registered in 2024/25. We were very fortunate to recruit over 90 wonderful volunteer leaders. Most are moms of girls registered in our District.

There are 4 elementary schools within the district boundaries, Ross Road, Upper Lynn, Eastview, and Lynn Valley. Much of the Boundary school catchment also falls within the Lynn Valley District boundaries.

Units meet at various types of venues. We have units in most of the schools listed, including Boundary, with the exception of Lynn Valley due to their space restrictions. Our units also meet at 2 Bee Haven Day Care Facilities, one in the Lynn Valley Shopping complex, and one on Mountain Highway near Eastview School. We also have units meeting at St Clements, Lynn Valley United, and Hillside Baptist. We are very fortunate the community are such strong supporters of Girl Guides.

For the 2025/26 Guiding year we expect to have 8 Spark units,10 Ember units, 12 Guide units, 6 Pathfinder units, and 2 Ranger units. So that girls in all units have many of the same opportunities our District puts on a lot of District events.

The plans for 2025/26 include both a Spark and an Ember Drive In Theatre, a Remembrance Day Event at Cates Park with hot dogs and hot chocolate, a District wide winter event at Canyon Lights, a Science World Adventure night for Embers, a Sparks Go Wild at the Palace event, our annual Cupcakes & Candles District camps in February & March that all levels attend, a District-wide Hike for Hunger in March with food donated to the Harvest Project, a Roller Skating Event for Guides, Pathfinders & Rangers, and an Amazing Race for Pathfinders and Rangers.

Lynn Valley District promotes International Travel. We had one trip group travel to Costa Rica during Spring Break, and in the summer of 2025, we have girls heading for a UK adventure that includes visiting Pax Lodge, a World Centre, and two others heading for Europe adventures that will incorporate another of the World Centres, Our Chalet. These travel opportunities are offered starting at the 3 rd year Guide age with travel happening after their first year in Pathfinders.
